The Eve

Tomorrow is the big day for The Younger surgery for his Congenital Trigger Thumb. We have to be at the surgery center at 6:15am. That means we have to leave at 5:45am. That means we have to get up at 4:45am to get ourselves and him ready to leave. Should I even bother going to bed tonight?

No food after midnight, no lotion or hair products (why? can someone tell me that?), and comfy clothing. I think that was all of the rules. I hope I'm not forgetting something. He's never been "put under" before. I hope he doesn't poop on the table because we ran out of the emergency disposable pull-ups. I love the greenness of cloth diapers but they are not that convenient when you need changing to be quick and easy.

Anyhoo, it is only a 30 minute procedure so I anticipate us being home by mid-morning. It's the recovery that I worry about. And of course the weapon he will acquire for 2 weeks...

Oh my. The surgery is here all ready. I am sure for you it has felt like a long wait. I will pray for you all. The night before is always so stressful. I would not worry about using disposable diapers during and after a surgery. You will have your hands full as it is. :)

The no cream/hair products rule has something to do with preventing/lowering the risk of infection. Do you have to scrub his hands with that special antimicrobial soap too?

I will be sending good thoughts your way. Hope you get some sleep tonight. I'll check in tomorrow for an update.

Thanks guys!

Marla, we are actually out of the disposable ones. I guess I should have picked some up while I was out. I'll check all the emergency places in the vehicles...

Tulipmom, that makes sense now. I hope they scrub his hands with the good stuff. He's a little OCD so he will probably wash his own hands 10 times before we leave and then 10 times when we get there!

Niksmom, Yes, I agree...I'm exhausted right now because of how busy I was yesterday (back to back events from 8am until 8:30pm and then staying up til midnight to get ready for a sale).

So I'm off to la la land...Goodnight.
